4th March 1992 Day 228

The Diary
We had a very good breakfast and wished Graham and Shaky happy birthday. The weather was cool and the clouds were rolling up and down the mountains. This was very reminiscent of Penelokan. So reminiscent we had a power cut and the running water went off. We had a short walk to the other local attraction, the Bat Cave. Beth was disappointed it wasn't quite a real cave but the thousands of bats were real enough. It was too dark to take photos and we wondered about the life cycle of the bat for a short while before returning to base.

The rest of the day was spent in the restaurant, eating, reading back issues of Newsweek, writing postcards, writing letters, talking and eating again. And so was everyone else. Early to bed for the 2:30am start the following morning.
