10th January 1992 Day 174

The Diary
By this time our fine host and taxi-moke driver Graeme had got very friendly with Beth. And what's more he kept her separate from me and Oz in a room at the far side of the hos-tell. Aye aye - say no more.

We spent the day on the banks of the brown tannin-stained Lake Ainsworth and then we tried real boogie boarding in the surf. It's harder than it looks to catch the waves correctly but after quite a long time the score was Oz 4, Gaz 4 and Beth 1.

It must be said that Beth was a late starter and probably had the least of the swell. Ooh-err missus. Sideways glance.

Evening - pizza, VB in the pub while Bent Nails (a Willie Nelson, Bob Marley, Jerry Garcia lookalike band) bent our eardrums with crap versions of all sorts of rubbish.

2012
Not too much to add. Just a normal day for backpackers on the NSW north coast.
